Dr. Masi Bayless
Dr. Masi Bayless chose to practice Directional Non-Force Technique (DNFT) Chiropractic because of 3 important characteristics that align with her belief in giving back to the community:
1. Safe for all ages and for all types of injuries and chronic pain.
2. Effective at getting people out of pain and back doing what they love.
3. The results last.
Dr. Masi Bayless is thrilled to be practicing the DNFT technique in Santa Cruz in the footsteps of Dr. Katie Griffin, her long time mentor and friend. Dr. Bayless takes into consideration the whole person, empowering patients to take control of their health with as little professional interference as possible. Through the use of DNFT, people get well and don’t need to keep returning for more adjustments over a long period of time. Dr. Bayless is also dedicated to staying current on the latest nutritional and exercise research. As an avid researcher and biohacker herself, she is always trying to find the most natural and efficient way to improve her health and give her patients the best results imaginable. She has a special interest in finding underlying causes for chronic pain and inflammation, especially fibromyalsia, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as well as mold toxicities often unaddressed by standard medicine.
Dr. Bayless is a California native raised in Southern California. She majored in biology as a pre-med student at University of California in Santa Cruz. While attending university she worked as a veterinary technician and her love for animals still remains to this day. After college, Dr. Bayless worked in the medical device industry for 5 years. Wanting to be more involved with the community and do work she was enthusiastic about, Dr. Bayless decided to pursue her true passion of chiropractic. She attended Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, CA, where she graduated cum laude in 2015. While in school, she took a special interest in sports injuries, McKenzie physical therapy, and, of course, DNFT. Dr. Bayless has always been a sports enthusiast, having played volleyball, basketball and badminton in high school. In college, she played Ultimate Frisbee and enjoyed long road cycling trips. Today she lives with her husband in Santa Cruz, CA where they enjoy going on bike rides, hikes, runs with their German Shorthair Pointer “Dash” and occasional pickle-ball. Always up for a challenge Dr. Bayless recently completed her first marathon and hopes to do another!
Dr. Katie Griffin
Dr. Katie retired in May of 2019 but continues to mentor Dr. Masi in her continued success of the practice she started in 1990.
Dr. Katie Griffin is passionate about her work as a Santa Cruz chiropractor and has been committed to providing the holistic care and attention patients need since 1990. She is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, the study of human motion. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic from the prestigious Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, California graduating Magna Cum Laude.
