Meet the Doctors

Dr. Masi Bayless

Dr. Masi Bayless

Dr. Masi Bayless chose to practice Directional Non-Force Technique (DNFT) Chiropractic because of 3 characteristics important to her in giving back to the community:

1. Safe for all ages and for all types of injuries and chronic pain.
2. Effective at getting people out of pain and back doing what they love.
3. The results last.

Dr. Bayless takes into consideration the whole person and empowers patients to take control of their health with as little professional interference as possible. DNFT is perfect for this: people get well and don’t need to keep returning for more adjustments over a long period of time. She is thrilled to be practicing this technique in Santa Cruz in the footsteps of Dr. Katie Griffin, her long time mentor and friend. Dr. Bayless is also dedicated to staying current on the latest nutritional and exercise research as an avid researcher and biohacker herself she is always trying to find the most natural, efficient way to improve her health along with her patients to give the best results imaginable. She has a special interest in finding underlining causes for chronic pain and inflammation especially fibromyalsia, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as well as mold toxicities that are often unaddressed by standard medicine. Dr. Bayless is a California native raised in Southern California. She majored in biology at University of California in Santa Cruz where she was pre-med. While going through college she worked as a veterinary technician and her love for animals still remains to this day. After college Dr. Bayless worked in the medical device industry for 5 years. Wanting to be more involved with the community and do work she was enthusiastic about, Dr. Bayless decided to pursue her true passion of chiropractic. She attended Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, CA, where she graduated cum laude in 2015. While in school she took a special interest in sports injuries, McKenzie physical therapy, and, of course, DNFT. Dr. Bayless has always been a sports enthusiast having played volleyball, basketball and badminton in high school. In college, she played Ultimate Frisbee and enjoyed long road cycling trips. Today she lives with her husband in Santa Cruz, CA where they enjoy going on bike rides, hikes and runs with their German Shorthair Pointer “Dash”.

Dr. Megan Ng

Megan Ng, D.C. obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West where she graduated summa cum laude. She studied biology at UC Davis with the intent of attending medical school but realized the current medical model did not align with her philosophy of individualized patient care and holistic health. Back pain and the stress of working in a hospital led her to a chiropractor who decidedly said, “I’m going to convince you to become a chiropractor.” Two months later she enrolled at Life West with a commitment to helping people achieve optimal health.

After experiencing headaches with traditional chiropractic adjustments at school, Dr. Megan was drawn to DNFT as a gentle and safe alternative to facilitating nervous system function. With her first DNFT adjustment, she was surprised at how positively her body responded. She felt more balanced, experienced a dramatic increase in sleep quality, and her headaches went away. She appreciated the logical and systematic analysis of DNFT and knew it would allow her to effectively deliver patient centered care using a whole-body approach. Eager to share the benefits of low force adjusting with other students, she worked with Dr. Christopher John, DC, president of the technique, to bring DNFT Club to Life Chiropractic College West.

In her free time Dr. Megan stays active by swimming, weight training, and learning jiu jitsu and aerial silks. Her creative outlets include playing cello with the South Bay Philharmonic and paper quilling. Outside of the office her chiropractic goals include creating a fun, interactive and affordable National Boards and licensing prep program for chiropractic students.

She is honored to be serving the Los Gatos and Santa Cruz communities alongside her mentor Dr. Masi Bayless.

Dr. Katie Griffin

Dr. Katie retired in May of 2019 but continues to mentor Dr. Masi and Dr. Megan in her continued success of the practice she started in 1990.

Dr. Katie Griffin is passionate about her work as a Santa Cruz chiropractor and has been committed to providing the holistic care and attention patients need since 1990.   When asked why she cares so much, Dr. Griffin says with a smile, “I just love to help people, whether I help them or refer them to the person who does, I’m confident they will recover quickly and their pain will be gone”. She is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, the study of human motion. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic from the prestigious Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, California graduating Magna Cum Laude. The world of medicine and chiropractic is constantly changing and with patients in mind Dr. Griffin regularly attends educational health-related programs and technology seminars that keep her on the leading edge of today’s methods.  She also participates in training seminars for Directional Non-Force Technique® Chiropractic.

Because referrals are an important part of her practice, Dr. Griffin routinely networks with local health resources making sure she has the most up-to-date information about them. Dr. Griffin spent six years studying at the world-renowned Hahnemann College of Homeopathy in Berkeley, California and is a practicing Classical Homeopath since 1998. Dr. Griffin lives in Santa Cruz with her husband, her daughter Cecelia, and an organic vegetable garden.
